The Bobcat Store has a physical location in the newly renovated Lyric Theater building at 18 East Main Street in Frostburg, Maryland. The idea of the store originated with the President of Frostburg State University, Dr. Johnathan Gibralter, and came into existence October 3, 2008 after a year of planning and reconstruction of the building that had been gutted by a fire a year or so earlier. The store has a rich traditional appearance inside with all natural and earth tone colors. The hardwood floors are a natural finish on seasoned red oak boards, while the cabinetry and fixtures are made of dark cherry wood. The lighted crown moulding in the ceiling is complimented with four hanging chandeliers.

The Bobcat Store is operated by the University Bookstore. The store hours have been adjusted to be in harmony with other businesses operating in the Main Street District of Frostburg.
